True lovers of the outdoors

We are people who love the outdoors, we appreciate the beauty of nature and all that it holds. We are about experiences, about memories created and treasured, and above all having fun in life. We have travelled to many countries over the years and some of our best experiences have been when we have been in small groups and off the beaten track, experiencing nature in all it’s purity. When we first paddled in Cable Bay and around Pepin Island, we experienced that purity, the beauty of being somewhere that gives you that feeling of peace, that you are the first ones to discover this stunning landscape when obviously you aren’t but the lack of crowds of people in this area is the absolute sheer beauty of the place. To experience this stunning landscape and the wildlife that lives here with very few people is one the best ways to experience nature and being in a kayak allows for a more unobtrusive and quiet way to observe nature in all its glory.

It's a local family business

We are a family run local business, we live just around the bay in the Glen, Mel is originally from North Canterbury but her ancestral roots are in Nelson as her great, great, great grandfather was one of the early settlers and provided the drinking water to Nelson prior to the supply being connected. Clive originally from South Africa, has always had a love for the sea from a young age and spent many hours of his youth out on a paddle ski. Clive is a qualified sea kayak guide and a volunteer with the Nelson Coast Guard. He loves being out on the water and is passionate to show everyone the beauty of this area in a safe, memorable, and enjoyable way. Clive is a member of the Kiwi Association of Sea Kayakers (K.A.S.K) and New Zealand Outdoors Instructors Association (NZOIA).
